Addressing Hunger: The Key to Unlocking Education in Tanzania
The journey of My School Plate Foundation began with a single observation by our founder, Fildaross Swai, during her sophomore year at Westminster College. After witnessing a young student in Dar es Salaam struggling to choose between his education and a meal, Fildaross was inspired to act. Her dedication earned her the prestigious Middlebury Projects for Peace Award twice—in both 2022 and 2023—providing the vital spark needed to launch what has now become a thriving nonprofit.
